Victor Doungel: Performed with Usha Uthup India’s first Pop Star

In 2011, I took admission for the Secondary level at

Hi! My name is Victor Doungel. I was born in the year 1993 at Pailapur Clinic, Pailapur,

Cachar, Assam. I was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy which caused developmental delay. I am a

wheel chair user and slow in writing as I have stiffness of my both upper and lower limbs. As

Cerebral Palsy is a condition where the body becomes stiff due to the brain cell which controls

your body movement gets partly damage. Although I have physical stiffness, I can speak and

have good memory power. Therefore, I have the capability to study, for my further development

in life.

National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), got my

books and studied in school and at home as far as I could;

and then appeared my Exam and passed the secondary

course successfully.

Now, I am doing Senior Secondary course in NIOS, I’m

reading the books of Senior Secondary and preparing for my

exam. I Hope God would give me success in life as I carry

go on my studies.

I have performed with India’s first Pop Star ever Usha Uthup in the year 2002 at Rabindra

Bhawan. In the same year, I also performed with one of the greatest pianist of all times Neil

Nongkynrih in a musical show organized by several companies in association with Colgate in

aid of Shishu Sarothi at Rabindra Bhawan. In the year 2007, I was glad to perform again with

Neil Nongkynrih in his concert “Summer Eternal” in aid of Shishu Sarothi at Rabindra

Bhawan. In that “Summer Eternal”, I got a golden chance to meet the renowned flutist Deepak

Sharma. Way back in 2010, I participated in the Talent Hunt named “Schoolwiz” organized by

NEWS LIVE in association with Rang at Rajiv Gandhi indoor stadium. Apart from these I also

perform in Churches and participate in dramas organized by Shishu Sarothi in collaboration with

the Segal Theatre.
